A Houston Recognition That Felt Personal
I recently had the opportunity to be part of this year’s Fresh Faces of Fashion photo shoot, and I walked away from the experience feeling genuinely inspired.
Recognition is always meaningful, but what stayed with me most was the group of women around me. Houston is full of founders, executives, creatives, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who are building businesses, taking risks, and creating opportunities for other people. Spending time with women who are doing that work made the day feel like much more than a photo shoot.
It reminded me how powerful it is to be in a room with people who are moving forward in their own way and still making space to celebrate one another.
Fashion, Confidence, and Showing Up
Fresh Faces of Fashion has long brought together Houston style and community through Modern Luxury Houston and Tootsies. Being part of that tradition this year was such a fun experience.
I have always believed that how you show up matters. That does not mean chasing perfection. It means knowing who you are, being confident in what you have built, and being willing to take up space in rooms you once hoped to enter.
Fashion can be part of that. It can be expressive, playful, polished, or completely unexpected. More than anything, it can help you feel like yourself. Getting to celebrate that alongside women with completely different careers, stories, and perspectives made the shoot especially memorable.
The Women Building Houston
What I love most about Houston is the people behind it. This city rewards ambition, but it also rewards relationships. So much of what I have built in my own career has come from showing up, meeting people, staying connected, and learning from the people around me.
That is why experiences like Fresh Faces matter to me. They create a reason for women from different industries and circles to come together. You may arrive because of a recognition or an event, but the conversation, introduction, or friendship that follows can become the part you remember most.
I left the shoot proud to be part of a city where so many women are building something of their own and supporting other women while they do it.

Thank you to Modern Luxury Houston and Tootsies for including me in this year’s Fresh Faces of Fashion experience and for creating a day that felt celebratory, creative, and distinctly Houston.
