This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we were not only honored to be invited to the Mayor's Volunteer Appreciation Awards, but we were humbled to be on the receiving end of one of these powerful awards. Having Nan & Company Properties stand alongside some of Houston's most active community members and listening to the stories of people who quietly and consistently put others before themselves, is truly a moving experience.
My dream has always been to build a company that is genuinely woven into the fabric of the community it serves. One that shows up not just when there's a deal on the table, but when the community needs it most. Receiving this recognition from the Mayor's office is a reminder that the wholehearted work we've been doing has not gone unnoticed.

A major part of who we are is Nan Cares. What began nearly ten years ago as a simple toy drive, created to make sure every child could experience the joy of the holiday season regardless of their family's financial circumstances, has grown into something far greater than I ever imagined. From toy drives and turkey drives to natural disaster relief, Nan Cares has become the soul of this company. I could not be more proud of the dedication, the consistency, and the genuine love that goes into everything Nan Cares does.
This award belongs to every agent, every team member, and every friend who has given their time, energy, and passion into making Houston a better place. My agents show up for this city in ways that go far beyond any job description, and I am endlessly grateful for each and every one of them.
We are especially proud to celebrate my friend and our own Charlie Bingham and his wife Sonia. They were the recipients of the Mayor's Disaster Relief and Recovery Leadership Award. Nominated by the Department of Neighborhoods for their outstanding volunteer work throughout Winter Storm Fern, Charlie exemplifies exactly the kind of people who make Nan & Company Properties, and this city, so incredibly special.
On the note of giving back, Nan Cares is currently participating in the Kids' Meals Juice Box Challenge, and we would love for you to join us. Kids' Meals is a Houston-based nonprofit that delivers free, healthy meals directly to preschool-aged children living in poverty. During the summer months, when many children lose access to school-based meals, the need becomes even greater. From April 11th through June 30th, we are collecting 100% juice boxes to donate. It is one of the simplest ways to make a direct, meaningful impact right here in our community. Drop off juice boxes at the Nan & Company Properties Heights Office or donate online, because every single contribution matters, no matter the size.
Houston has given so much to Nan & Company Properties. This city has welcomed us, supported us, and grown alongside us every step of the way. When your community pours into you, you pour right back, and we always will.
